So glad the week is almost over..I feel like it has been a rough week. I am struggling with feeling like I am eating too much. I probably am. I burned 2122 calories yesterday but ate 1559 calories. That is too much I feel. I need to get it down, what do you think? I guess it will feel like too much when you use to eat 700 calories on a diet. I got up and did some exercise for only 15 minutes which also makes me feel like a failure but my leg hurt too much to continue. So not feeling so hot about things this morning. Need a pick me up but also honesty from you both.
What you did yesterday is a 500 calorie deficit. It is still a deficit, so it is good. A 500 calorie a day deficit will give you about 1 lb weight loss per week, which is perfectly acceptable. If it is going to make you feel bad to only lose 1 lb per week then on the days you are not active you should eat 1400 calories per day. That would give you a 700 cal deficit and over 7 days would give you about 1.5 lbs of loss. I still am not sure why you think you are eating too much. Obviously prior to starting this diet you were eating more on a daily basis...over what you burn which looks to be 2100-2400 so to be eating 1400-1600 is a huge improvement over your prior diet which you should be proud of. The 700 calorie diet is insane, unhealthy and gets you nowhere. Just curious, did Doug know you were doing that? so I guess the point of all that rambling is that you are doing a good job, you are doing it correctly...if 1600 makes you unhappy...do 1400.
ReplyDeleteYes, my sister stated things very nicely. I agree with it. You are doing really good. You are burning more calories than you are consuming and doing it at a good and healthy pace. Starving yourself is very unhealthy and will not do you any favors once you have reached your weight goals. Remember that food is your friend, not your enemy! As long as you are making healthy choices (and eating an adequate amount) and doing whatever exercise your body can handle at this point is great. Remember you are still losing weight even when you eat 1600 calories. You are doing it the right way, though it's not coming off as fast as before - but that's a good thing and this will be much easier to maintain by burning it off versus starving it off. You can do it mother! And you ARE doing it! Keep it up.
