Something's wrong
Ok....this is 4 weeks without a lb being lost. Something is wrong. Yes, I have lost inches...lost another 1/2 off of my thigh and 1/4 off of my arm but no weight lost. I think I must be underestimating my calories. They say even the back of boxes are not always correct. Perhaps I should cut out all snacks...even the good ones of vegetables that I have .....of course those add up to less than 100 calories.....just not sure what is wrong. I have not been able to exercise because of my hip and leg that much which is a problem but if my calories are truly lower than my burn.....still should be losing lbs. Grrrrrr ! I use measuring cups and the scale at every meal........? So what should I do? I do sometimes think I might have a thyroid problem...I realize that could just be an excuse. I am cold a lot of the time, thinning hair, tired and constipated at times...all signs of an underactive thyroid. Years ago I was tested for that and they said no. I had heard that the test I was given does not always detect this problem. I am probably grasping at straws but I want answers. This next week I will be a fanatic of watching every tiny thing that goes in my mouth and see if that helps. Any suggestion??????? I am very tempted to go below a 1000 calories a day just to see some results !!!!!!!

1. If you are concerned about your thyroid, get it checked...call tomorrow, get it done this week. Things can happen since it was checked "years ago". If it is normal then you know that you can't think that anymore and if it is abnormal, you can help it. The test is pretty darn accurate...it checks the active thryroid hormone in the blood and it also tests the hormone that controls the thyroid levels.
ReplyDelete2. Please don't go under 1200 calories. It solves nothing, teaches you nothing, makes you lose more muscle than you need to,etc. etc. It is stupid. Just don't do it.
3. Are you being 100% honest with your food? Are you inputting EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth? Even the bite of something you might take while you are cooking or making dad's lunch or pick up at work? Are you overpacking the measuring cups super tight or the top is rounded? All those definitely add up. Are you eating "clean"? Meaning are you eating minimally processed, close to nature, boxless, packageless, natural food? Are you eating out? You know my philosophy on eating out and losing weight. I won't restate it again, don't want to annoy you. But I wholeheartedly 100% believe it. Think about those things and be honest with yourself.
One more thought that you probably won't like...but the bodybugg should be picking up the correct calorie burn even if your thyroid isn't working well. It is based off of movement, heat, etc. I would think that it would just be posting a lower calorie burn if your metabolism was being affected by thyroid issues...could be wrong, it may be more complicated, not sure.
ReplyDeleteOff to stupid, stupid, stupid work. I'm on call...yippee =)
Yes. Stacey is smart. She gives good advice. Check out your thyroid if you are concerned. Knowlegde will help you. Just don't give up. Eating healthier in the long run will make you feel better anyway overall.
