Thursday 5-6-10

Interesting week.   Have not had time to post or much to post about.   I got up this morning and did 45 minutes of weights and resistance bands this morning so this made me feel good.   The night before I  mowed and that increased my calorie burn by over 300 calories.   Not sure if that is the reason or not but the next day (yesterday) my glutes hurt so bad.   I not only was mowing but mowing against a very strong wind...strong enough that it kept almost blowing my shirt up over my head...so I was really pushing plus most of my mowing is on an incline around the house....!    I have upped my calcium and fiber quite a bit with my eating and also have found a calcium and fiber supplement to my liking.    Not sure how good that is...Target carries Calcium gummie suppliments and Gummie fiber supplements !  Aren't I horrible...it has to taste like candy to make me like it.    I just have to remember that they are supplements and you only take 2 a day...they are NOT candy.   They also made gummie vitamins but I think they have iron in them and supposidly you should not take iron at my age.

  1. Excellent work on the exercise. I don't know enough of supplements to comment. I'll leave that for the good doctor. :) Mowing is always a good exercise (unless you are riding!).

  2. yeah for sore muscles! (as long as they aren't too sore =)....you worked them good! I suppose if you asked a vitamin purist they might frown on your supplements, I once read a study about vitamins and half of them were crap...didn't have what they were supposed to in them, etc, especially off brands so who knows?!? I can't give too much advice about that. That is one reason the gym recommends apex vitamins (i'm sure there are others out there) because they are supposedly self imposing quality regulations that only pharmaceuticals go through. vits aren't regulated by the FDA as they are a dietary supplement. Again...who knows?
